Why does rotation with my 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse freeze?
Symptom: When using the SpaceMouse, particularly when switching from one application to another, the rotation may freeze for a moment and then resume.
Cause: The 3Dconnexion configuration file for the TopSolid 7 application (TopSolid.xml file) is corrupt and several doubles (TopSolid(1).xml, TopSolid(2).xml,...) have been created in the 3Dconnexion configuration folder.
Solution: The solution is to stop the 3Dconnexion driver and then delete the xml configuration files as described below:
- Close TopSolid 7,
- Stop the 3Dconnexion driver (Windows Start icon > All apps > 3Dconnexion > Stop 3DxWare),
- Go to %APPDATA%\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\Cfg using Windows Explorer,
- Delete all the files beginning with TopSolid (TopSolid.xml, TopSolid(1).xml, etc.),
- Restart the 3Dconnexion driver (Windows Start icon > All apps > 3Dconnexion > Start 3DxWare).
On restarting TopSolid 7, a new TopSolid.xml file will automatically be created in the 3Dconnexion configuration folder.
