Why does the Controller and Analyst applications no longer start after installing patch 7.18 SP6 or greater?
Symptôm: After applying the 7.18 SP6 update or later, when TopSolid'Inspection Controller and Analyst is launched, error messages appear as if the data files were not found.
Cause: Prior to 7.18 SP6, patches reset the config file because it was located in the installation directory: C:\Program Files\TOPSOLID\TopSolid Inspection Controller 7.18\bin\TopSolid.Inspection.Controller.exe.Config
This problem has been corrected in version 7.18 SP6, where the config file is now in the directory C:\ProgramData\TOPSOLID\TopSolid'Inspection Controller\7.18\ConfigFile.Config
The settings are no longer modified by patches.
But when SP6 is applied for the first time, the “ProgramData” config file does not contain the settings.
Correction: It is now the configuration file located in ProgramData that needs to be modified to define the shared parameter folder and PDF folder (see instructions in the installation guide) C:\ProgramData\TOPSOLID\TopSolid'Inspection Controller\7.18\ConfigFile.Config
